MTN Sudan took the world by surprise on Sunday 26th August 2007 when it made the world’s largest football certified by the Guinness world records.
During an unprecedented mega event attended by more than 40000 people and invitees from 20 different countries and aired live on Sudan National TV, MTN celebrated in setting a new world record by producing the world’s biggest football.
On behalf of MTN Sudan board of directors and Management, Mr.Imad Kreidieh, Chief executive Officer of MTN Sudan has dedicated this world record to the Sudanese people as a symbol of achievement, Unity and peace.
Guinness world records representative visited the site, inspected the ball and presented the record certificate to MTN officials. The world’s largest football has a diameter of 34.7 feet approximately 11 meters. All the materials used in the ball have undergone detailed laboratory tests to comply with FIFA standards. The ball is made of PVC artificial leather used to produce the regular football.
Says Fadi Agha, MTN Sudan Chief Commercial officer “ The event was scheduled at a time to celebrate also the latest achievements of the Sudanese national team which saved its place to the Africa cup of nations(AFCON) that is sponsored by MTN and is due to take place in Ghana early next year”.

The huge event was animated by famous local artists and comedians, German freestylers and an international band from Brazil, Colombia and England. All attendants received a variety of promotional materials.
