MTC touch organizes its third public auction on 25 new platinum mobile numbers

For the third time in less than one year, mtc touch, the leading mobile telecommunication company in Lebanon and ZAIN affiliate, organized its third public auction on 25 new platinum mobile numbers. The auction took place on Thursday, 24th of September, 2009 at the Movenpick Hotel, Raouche and was held upon the request and under high patronage of Telecommunications’ Minister, Engineer Gebran Bassil.
 
In total, the company raised US$ 1,684,641 from auctioning off 23 platinum numbers, with the highest bid being US$ 601,000 for the number 70 000000, this being the highest selling in value amongst all auctioned platinum numbers in Lebanon. This was followed by the number 71-111111 which was sold for US$ 263,000, while the number 70-000007 was sold for US$ 150,000. The lowest selling number was 71-120000 sold for US$ 9,000.
 
This event follows the last two successful public auctions held by mtc touch, with a record-breaking overall outcome of 77 platinum mobile numbers being sold for more than USD 4 Million.
