TRA Hosts Over 15,000 Visitors at GITEX Pavilion

Mobilk - The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) concluded its participation in the 38th edition of GITEX Technology Week with a well-attended award ceremony that recognized exceptional contributions in the information and technology (ICT) sector by various government entities under the umbrella of mGovernment.

The TRAs pavilion at the event received an overwhelming response with over 3000 visitors per day, as it showcased a range of innovative information and communication technologies (ICT) projects and initiatives that TRA uses to facilitate the creation of an advanced and secure digital community in the UAE.

The visitors, which reached a total number of over 15,000 - as analysed by a hi-tech sensor system developed by the TRA, included 52 percent males and 48 percent females with the maximum influx of visitors recorded between 2 pm to 3 pm each day.

The TRA also signed several significant Memorandum of Understating (MoUs) with global ICT and professional service companies and government entities during the event.

H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of the TRA, said, "We are very pleased with the overwhelming response that we got at GITEX. The participation in this edition was aimed at familiarizing visitors with TRAs contributions towards national smart transformation drive along with fostering partnerships with local government and global entities in the field of ICT. We wanted to bring to the forefront the efforts we make on a regular basis and our future plans, to help create a sustainable and secure digital community within the UAE."

H.E. added, "GITEX 2018 has opened up new horizons for the future with artificial intelligence and the fourth industrial revolution. This will enable us to accelerate the digital transformation march, with sophisticated infrastructure and ambitious strategies that are designed to create a happy society."

At GITEX, the TRA was part of 21 federal entities, under the umbrella of the UAE mGovernment, are showcasing their achievements in using technology to facilitate provision of government services and achieve customer happiness, upholding the principle of one government and good services.
