Mobilk - Last year saw STC and Commvault announce a memorandum of understanding that targeted the public sector and SMEs in Saudi Arabia with a new cloud offering. Today, they are back to discuss how this has developed over the last year, and to showcase some of the latest developments in the world of ‘Backup-as-a-Service’ in the Middle Eastern market.
Since GITEX 2016, cloud adoption across the Gulf region has continued apace; so too has the realisation that different types of cloud environments suit different applications and data sets, and therefore require different backup strategies.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is continuing to witness tremendous growth of cloud adoption and backup as a service implementations. Through our work with Commvault, over the last year we have been able to offer the best data management solutions available in the market to our customers, regardless of what cloud offering they are using.” said Dr Tarig M Enaya, senior vice president of STC Enterprise Business Unit.
“As the market continues to mature in the Middle East, we see big opportunities for better, more effective data management as-a-service offerings for hybrid, public and private cloud environments. By working with an organisation with the presence and brand awareness that STC enjoys, we hope to be able to promote the implementation and continued requirements for these secure and effective solutions still further,” added Wael Mustafa, AVP, MESAT region, Commvault.
