Mobilk - ManageEngine, the real-time IT management company, today announced the addition of smart card support in ADManager Plus, its Active Directory management and reporting software solution at the 36th GITEX technology Week being held in Dubai. The company also announced the addition of Active Directory Users and Computers reports, as well as the ability to manage and execute AD tickets in ADManager Plus iOS and Android mobile apps. Besides easing the logon process, these additions offer greater security and simplify AD management and reporting with mobility. ManageEngine will hold demonstrations of this product at GITEX 2016 at DWTC, Hall 7, Booth A 7-10.
As attacks grow more and more frequent, tight security becomes a key goal for even the biggest and the most sophisticated of companies. Another important goal is implementing and enforcing access controls to comply with regulations such as HIPAA and SOX. Smart cards are a simple and flexible option to achieve both these goals, as they help secure user data and set up user or role-based access to organizational data.
“By adding smart card support, we have made it possible for our customers to capitalize on the benefits of smart cards to set up secure and controlled access to ADManager Plus,” said Manikandan Thangaraj, director of product management at ManageEngine. “The user logon process will also become easier as users do not have to log on to ADManager Plus separately; once they use smart cards to successfully log on to their machines, users will automatically have access to ADManager Plus.”
Extending the Convenience of Mobility to AD Management and Reporting
Increasingly, organizations and users around the globe perform their routine and even critical operations via mobile devices. In this same vein, AD administrators and technicians are looking for better ways to work away from their desks.
ADManager Plus mobile apps offer the much needed freedom and flexibility to be on top of AD user accounts 24/7. With the addition of computer management, user and computer reports, and the capability to manage and execute AD tickets, the ADManager Plus mobile apps will now make it possible to perform a major chunk of critical AD operations using just mobile devices.
With the latest version of the ADManager Plus iOS or Android mobile app, administrators and technicians can:
•Identify all users, including inactive, locked out, disabled, and password-expired users.
•List all computers, including those that are inactive or disabled.
•Enable or disable, delete and reset computers, as well as manage their group memberships.
•Review, approve or reject, execute and delete AD tickets.
