Mobilk - Businesses are now able to focus significant time on staff rather than procedures and operation through implementing Oracle HR cloud technology, according to customers and HR experts speaking at GITEX.
Qatar Cool, the leading commercial provider of district cooling services in Qatar, was one of the early adopters of cloud technology in the region. A long standing Oracle customer, the organisation bought a range of solutions, implemented through Evosys, including Fusion Human Capital Management (HCM), Fusion Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Taleo solutions in 2013.
Qatar Cool explained that adapting to the new technology was a significant challenge for the business, especially considering it was a brand new step for the company in the market. It was important that the organisation could scope business requirements for financials and supply chain and the Oracle implementation successfully dealt with the issue.
The company found that it did not need to do away with legacy systems as the implementation allowed it to migrate data into the new system. This was particularly important considering the implementation happened midway through the financial year, whereby half of the financial transactions had been completed before the change and the other half after. This was particularly significant as it was also one of the first cloud payroll implementations in Qatar.
The business found that it saved a significant amount of time spent on procedure and operations and was able to focus much more time on staff and employee relations. Each employee became able to access the system from anywhere, without the need to be based in the office. The cloud technology allowed Qatar Cool to improve staff policy, develop employee self-services and focus on people rather than the administration side of HR.
The technology created simplicity for employees and in turn they have experienced significant saving in time and effort for them as a result of a streamlined HR system, running on cloud and available to all staff.
The fusion Supply Chain Management enabled an end to end paperless procure to pay cycle for Qatar Cool, as well end to end visibility of ordering process through lifecycle tracking. Thirdly, automated procurement accounting facilitated business transactions. The fusion Financials automated bank reconciliation, automated Financial Statements Reporting based on IFRS and automated intercompany transactions recording with approvals.
Arun Khehar, VP, Applications, ECEMEA, Oracle commented: "In the latest version of Oracle HCM Cloud, we have focused on delivering innovations and enhancements that enable non-IT users, such as managers and employees, to easily navigate and complete their HR tasks so they can concentrate on more productive tasks. We put a major emphasis on user experience, engagement, and the ability to work across all devices, which we believe sets our customers up for success."
The latest version of Oracle HCM Cloud delivers a single and simplified HCM cloud experience for all employees and managers, including a next-generation user experience for casual users across the entire hire-to-retire process. In addition, Oracle has introduced Work Life solutions to better reach and engage Millennials, complete mobile functionality, and new integrations to further unify its HCM platform.
