Today Samsung released a new firmware update for their I5700 Galaxy Spica. It brings Android 2.1 and all of its goodies to the current phone users, while all new Spica will come preinstalled with it.
If you own a Galaxy Spica you may want to install its PC Studio 7 (if you havent done that already) and run the software updater. After the process is finished, your smartphone will run on the latest Android OS v.2.1.
The new OS version brings tons of new goodies – 16M color support, multi-touch support (not pinch zoom though), double tap zoom, extended search functionality in the messaging department plus multiple email and contacts accounts sync support, HTML5 support, improved keyboard layout, better overall performance and more. You can find the generic Android OS v2.1 changelog here, most of it should be implemented in the Galaxy Spica too.
The Spicas price is already quite reasonable, so with this software refresh it may attract lots of new customers.
