The LG Arena has won the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) award for European Green Mobile Phone 2009-2010.
In designing the handset, the manufacturer used environmentally friendly materials such as tempered glass and metal. LG added that the number of individual parts in the handset has been reduced to make it easier to recycle.
LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company president and CEO Dr. Skott Ahn said: "We design our products with an eye toward sustainability and this award serves as high-level confirmation of its eco-friendly credentials.
"LG Arena’s eco-friendly features directly reflect the company’s environmental policies. We believe that life’s good when it’s green, and we will continue to design eco-=friendly products based on this philosophy. We will continue our role as a socially responsible leader in the mobile industry."
