Batelco Opens ideas Centre

Innovative Centre First of its Kind in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Mobilk - Batelco, the Kingdom’s leading telecommunications provider has officially opened ideas Centre, a new innovation centre to give visitors a sneak peak into the future of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

The new ideas Centre, located at Batelco Headquarters in Hamala, was officially opened by Batelco Group Chief Executive Shaikh Mohamed bin Isa Al Khalifa and Batelco Bahrain CEO Rashid Abdulla at a ceremony attended by Batelco Group and Batelco Bahrain senior executives, as well as members of Bahrain’s media. 

Batelco’s ideas Centre is a state-of-the-art, totally modern facility, which features the latest communication technologies and emerging services still in development. The Centre is a showcase for the future of communications and features a range of Smart Home services including Scenario  Control, which will allow users to have control of various elements in their home such as lights and sounds at the single touch of a button using smart mobile applications.  Also on show are new technologies like Digital Signage which represents the future of digital interactive marketing.  Additionally visitors will be able to experience first hand a variety of gadgets that use Proximity Communications and M2M (Machine to Machine) technology.

The innovative ideas Centre also includes an Entrepreneurs Zone which is to be used for ICT project development. Batelco is the only player in Bahrain’s ICT industry offering services for entrepreneurs to work on their innovative projects.

Batelco Group Chief Executive Shaikh Mohamed bin Isa Al Khalifa said that Batelco continued to evolve to be more than just a leader in telecommunications, by establishing itself as a leader in the provision of not only communications solutions but ICT solutions too. 

“The ICT sector is advancing at such a rapid pace that the range of products and services available can be daunting to comprehend. At Batelco we strive not only to keep up-to-date with changes, but via this new Centre, to stay ahead and be a leader in the delivery of new and innovative products and services that will enhance the lifestyles of residents of Bahrain,” Shaikh Mohamed said. 

Batelco Bahrain CEO Rashid Abdulla added that the ideas Centre would give customers the opportunity to explore many  new technology solutions developed by leading ICT organisations including Batelco itself. 

“Batelco’s new ideas Centre will further enhance Batelco’s position in the market as an ICT Solutions provider and demonstrate Batelco’s capability in delivering emerging solutions to meet customers’ demands,” he added.

The launch of Batelco ideas Centre closely follows on from the opening of Batelco Customer Experience Centre which showcases Batelco’s broad range of integrated solutions available for business customers.

Batelco ideas Centre will soon be open to the public. Interested parties will be able to book a visting time online with the details to be annouced later.
