Batelco Bahrain Sponsors H.M. The King’s 2nd Golf Cup

Batelco, Bahrain’s leading Telecommunications Company is sponsoring H.M. The King’s 2nd Golf Cup, organised by the Bahrain Golf Federation, which is taking place at The Royal Golf Club, Riffa, on December 3, 4 and 5.

Batelco Chief Executive Bahrain Gert Rieder presented a sponsorship cheque to Bahrain Golf Federation Deputy President Brigadier General Khalifa Al Fadhala when he visited Batelco’s Hamala headquarters on December 2nd.

Bahrain Golf Federation has invited 120 players from Bahrain, GCC, Asia and the Far East to participate in the annual event.

“We extend our thanks to His Majesty for this great initiative to promote golf in the Kingdom and are delighted to help contribute to the success of the event. This sponsorship is an inseparable part of Batelco’s sponsorship & donation plan designed to support a wide range of events in Bahrain and promote the Kingdom’s name overseas,” said Mr. Rieder.

The Chairman and Board Members of Bahrain Golf Federation expressed their gratitude to HM the King for his ongoing support for sports and athletes in Bahrain; particularly golf.

General Brigadier Khalifa said that the support given by Batelco is invaluable in ensuring the success of the annual event. He said that this championship will soon be on the European calendar of professional tournaments.

“The event serves to promote Bahrain as a sporting and tourism destination with facilities that compare to the best the world has to offer. The remodeled course at Riffa is among the leading courses in the region and reflects the high standards that the Kingdom strives to uphold,” he added.
