Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) Governor Abdulrahman Al Jaafari visited Mobily’s facilities along with an entourage of officials, as part of the commission’s overall inspection tour of Hajj preparations by telecom operator for the Hajj season.
Accompanied by an entourage of CITC officials, Al Jaafari was briefed by Mobily’s managing director and CEO, Khalid Omar Al Kaf on the company’s preparations for the Hajj season at the holy sites and the Holy City of Makkah at Mobily’s main switching center in Muzdalefah.
Present were senior executives from Mobily, as the CITC governor was briefed in detail on Mobily’s preparations, coverage and backup plans, and the expansion of capacity for Mobily’s Hajj WiFi service that will offered free to pilgrims, as well as Mobily’s overall coverage solution for new buildings at the Holy Sites. The CITC governor also visited Mobily’s International switching center there.
Earlier this week, Mobily announced that it concluded its preparations for covering all the Holy Sites in Makkah and Madinah with its network, as part of its overall Hajj program. Mobily conducted all required tests for the network to ensure the quality of its capacity and high quality coverage that includes all the five floors of Al-Jamarat, Arafat, Mina and Muzdalefah.
Mobily also announced that it started a campaign to introduce its services to the pilgrims at all holy sites though a large number of sales outlets in the Holy Cities of Makkah and Madinah, and Jeddah, international airports inside and outside the Kingdom, as well as all major border points into the Kingdom.
