Mobily on Saturday launched a new modem under the name Connect Plus. The modem, available for the first time in the Kingdom through Mobily, is not your old, one-dimensional USB modem. This tiny little new thing, besides being a modem, can also be used as a mobile phone to make calls and send SMS messages. It can also play MP3 files, be used as a storage device, and do Bluetooth exchanges, all while Internet connectivity is uninterrupted.
Along with the new modem, Mobily launched a number of new plans at its usual competitive prices that cover all the needs of its customers. Each plan includes the device and a SIM card, along with free voice call minutes and SMS messages.
Mobily’s launch of Connect Plus and its plans is part of Mobily’s relentless drive to bring the latest and greatest to its customers, said David Murphy, Mobily’s Chief Marketing Officer. He added that when all the free minutes and SMS messages had been used up, rates will be calculated according to those of the Hala and Khatty Plus plans.
Murphy also said that these plans are permanent, and can be switched from one plan to another at the user’s will. Finally, Murphy said that the new modem is available at all of Mobily’s branches in the Kingdom. Mobily today has the Middle East’s biggest 3G+ network, providing extremely fast download speeds.
