Qtel Business Solutions’ ongoing “Breakfast with Business Solutions” initiative reached out to a wide range of companies this week, holding a dedicated session for Qatar’s leading small and medium businesses.
One of the major features of the meeting was examining the new solutions being deployed by companies around the world to better control communication costs and to ensure streamlined information sharing with offices across the region and around the world.
One of the major areas under examination was the development of next generation IPVPN (Internet Protocol, Virtual Private Network) by Qtel for companies across Qatar. The solution developed by Qtel is linking companies in a private network using various media including 3G, WiMAX and fibre optic technology.
For companies looking to ensure full mobility and security for internal communication across a company, these kinds of solutions are becoming increasingly important to ensuring an effective communication strategy.
Many successful companies in Qatar are looking to offer seamless integration of voice and data networks under one IP network infrastructure, and deploying customized IP-VPN services.
Delfir Fernandes, of Inchape Shipping Services, who attended the Breakfast with Business Solutions meeting, said: “As a company that enables customers to take goods and services around the world, the information about the next generation of IPVPN services was extremely useful for us. Qtel provides incredibly robust communication support, and it is good to know that they are investing in the next generation of technology for customers.”
Another area under discussion was the new range of Closed User Group Services from Qtel, which enable companies to create communities of employees and stakeholders, who can then make calls and receive calls from members within the group at a special rate.
Closed User Groups are becoming an increasingly popular way for companies to manage costs effectively, particularly given the frequency with which employees call the same mobile numbers.
Prasanth Menon of Petrofac Qatar WLL, who was also at the session, noted: “The sessions were extremely useful in helping to clarify upcoming business solutions from Qtel, especially the unified communication technology which Qtel and Microsoft are jointly planning to introduce in Qatar, which helps increase the opportunity to manage communication costs and provides an important way to add value to our business".
Organised exclusively for Qtel’s corporate customers, Qtel’s “Breakfast with Business Solutions” meetings are designed to provide an ongoing update, to ensure companies remain at the cutting-edge of competitiveness.
