Mobilk - Committed to enhancing the education journey in the Sultanate and empowering the new generation, Ooredoo has upgraded its Digital Tutorial application. The update includes the addition of new content, approved by the Ministry of Education, and the accompanying materials for different grades and subjects, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, Arabic, Islamic education and more. Students from fifth to twelfth grade can also utilise mind-maps, an additional feature designed to guide them with their studies. To further motivate university students and job seekers, they can now access four new courses, certified by some of the most prestigious universities such as Harvard University.
Raed bin Mohammed Daoud, Director of Branding, Communications and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo, said, “With students returning to school after an academic year spent in distance learning, we still see a large number of users that choose our app as it helps with time management, organization skills, homework, collaboration and so much more. Building on the Ministry of Education’s ongoing efforts, our aim is to enhance students’ knowledge and prepare our youth with the right set of skills that are required to thrive in a fast-changing world".
At the forefront of digital educational technology since its launch in 2018, Ooredoo’s Digital Tutorial App has received more than 48 million views in the last year. The average number of active users on a daily basis was approximately 14,000 during peak hours, with an average view time of 21 minutes per student. Since the start of this academic year, over 808,000 students accessed the learning materials available and the number of registered students currently stands at 188,277.
This digital initiative falls under the umbrella of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme, Goodwill. The application offers a wide variety of training courses on HTML and programming, English and IELTS tests, as well as specialised topics from grade one to grade twelve. It also contains a number of courses and lessons on Java, information security, cloud computing, and IC3 global accreditation. Users can even learn about the Fourth Industrial Revolution and self-development courses that are designed for trainers, teachers and psychologists from the Sultanate and the Middle East.
