Mobilk - Bringing together the best smartphone developers across the Middle East & North Africa, Huawei hosted its ‘HUAWEI Developer Day’ workshop series in partnership with ZAIN Innovation Campus (ZINC), in Amman on December 18.
Launched in 2014, ZINC aims to bolster the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Jordan and the MENA region by equipping businesses and startups with the latest technologies. The campus helps young entrepreneurs shape their ideas into projects that can be rolled out in local, regional and global markets.
The workshop was attended by 100 people including Android application and games developers, representatives from ZINC, and the Jordan Gaming Lab –a project of King Abdullah II Fund For Development KAFD – designed to meet the requirements of developers and gaming companies and serve as an incubator for young Jordanians who wish to create their own gaming ideas.
Justin Chen, Operation Director of Huawei Consumer Cloud Service MENA, said: “Digitization is a revolution happening right now, and the region is transforming itself into a leading digital economy with new opportunities for developers taking shape every day, among which Jordan serves as an essential harbor. Through ‘HUAWEI Developer Day’ and HUAWEI AppGallery, we are targeting developers to help them increase their user base, network and engagement by supporting them to expand new markets and monetize their applications.”
Introduced in the Middle East for the first-time last month – gathering over 100 developers and design startups in Dubai – the ‘HUAWEI Developer Day’ series provides developers with insights into HUAWEI AppGallery and HUAWEI Themes, through interactive presentations and competitions.
