Mobilk - Embracing the spirit of Ramadan, Ooredoo joined families from throughout Muscat to celebrate Qaranqasho at Oman Avenues Mall. Held on the 30 May, the event marked the halfway point through the Holy month of Ramadan. Ooredoo participated in the mall’s Mega Qaranqasho celebration as this year’s official telecoms sponsor. The celebration included loads of fun-filled activities, colourful gifts and an array of prizes for children of all ages.
Raed Mohammed Dawood, Director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo said, “We are all about supporting local communities when it comes to our CSR events and we are really happy to be sponsoring this year’s Qaranqasho event at Oman Avenues Mall. With over 3,000 children present, we hope we spread a number of smiles as well as instil the importance of family and preserving a valued and festive tradition loved by all. A time-honoured custom, Qaranaqasho is observed throughout the region to not only a reward for children successfully fasting during the first half of Ramadan but also to encourage them to continue to fast throughout the remainder of the month. A beloved tradition on the eve of 15th of the month, Qaranqasho is a much-anticipated celebration, observed with children dressed in their best outfits, receiving sweets, gifts and money from their families and friends.
