Mobilk - Ooredoo, the Digital Partner at the Energy and Water Exhibition and Conference; an event co-organised by the Public Authority of Electricity and Water “Diam”, showcased its internet-of-things (IoT) based SMART utility technologies in line with their ‘Be Digital’ band promise. Held from April 30 to May 2 at the Oman Exhibition and Conference Center, the Ooredoo business stand was visited with several industry professionals, keen to see how Ooredoo supports the Energy and Water industry in Oman.

Through the use of information and communication technologies, we will be able to improve the quality of both government services and the welfare of our society. There has been a massive need for digitalisation and we are proud to be at the forefront of the digital transition within the Sultanate. With the implementation of IoT within this industry, we are creating smarter, more efficient ways of managing, monitoring and simplifying the way things operate.”
Ooredoo displayed an array of IoT products supporting smart city services, based on their recent cooperation with the LoRa Alliance’s Wide Area Network. This included IoT sensors for various utility meters and public car parking sensors, along with the LoRa Gateway with its long radio coverage range, , simple deployment and reliability to keep IoT devices connected with efficient costs and extra-long battery life. In addition to IoT, the company exhibited an energy corner with smart energy management tools, providing monitoring and control though efficiency solutions and intelligent outdoor lighting, a solutions that can generate up to 40% of savings in energy consumption. In addition, Ooredoo showcased a smart utility corner with smart electrical, water, and gas metering as well as retrofits to analogue mechanical meters for automation. The stand was supported by Ooredoo’s local partner NEC (National Electricity Center) and technology partners SAGEMCOM and Empyreal.
Through Ooredoo’s participation at the exhibition and conference, attendees were able to observe the functionality of the high tech equipment and how with the implementation of Ooredoo’s products and services, are able to support them throughout their digital transformation.
