Mobilk - As part of its commitment to drive human development and enrich the lives of Oman’s youth, Ooredoo sponsored 100 special-needs grade 12 students from underprivileged families across Oman, providing them with free online tuition. Supported by the Ministry of Social Development, students will have access to OMTUT, an Omani-based website that offers an extensive digital tuition designed to support their academic growth through visual and audible lessons.
Raed Mohammed Dawood, Director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo said, “We strive to make a difference in the future by investing in Omani youth today. In partnership with the Ministry of Social Development, our vision is to support these students by providing them better access to online tuition. Focused on youths with special-needs from low-income families, this initiative will help enhance their experience outside the classroom, making learning more stimulating and effective and allowing them to continue their studies online in the comfort of their homes and with the support of their families.”
Through the OMTUT website, students will benefit from over 75 subjects, 2,516 subjective videos, 1,880 interactive learning videos, 850 recordings hours, and 1,900 3D videos to support their educational journey. Available at elementary, middle and secondary grade levels, the digital curriculum aims to boost students’ learning abilities in a convenient and a modern manner.
Committed to empower the nation’s youth to reach their full potential, Ooredoo continuously seeks initiatives and programs that build their capabilities, enhance their confidence and equip them with the necessary skill-sets to lead a bright future. This sponsorship is just one of a number of youth-oriented initiatives the company has been involved in over the years including the annual Paris Saint-Germain’s football clinic and Qomrah 2. In addition, Ooredoo has designed several youth-specific services and special offers that cater to their digital needs led by its Shababiah plans.
