Mobilk - The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has been awarded two prizes at the ideasUK Competition, held in Stratford, UK, in last November. The competition witnessed strong participation from government delegations and entities from various parts of the world.
The TRA has been awarded the Gold Level Accreditation in Ideas Management and Innovation, through applying the best standards and practices that contribute to the introduction and adoption of innovative ideas, and turn them into practical solutions that reflect positively on the work environment in terms of improving productivity, increasing efficiency and reducing cost. Moreover, in line with TRAs keenness to use modern technology in community service, TRA has been honored within the best three innovative ideas in the field of community services for Hutaf initiative, which was launched recently in cooperation with Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club to support people of determination, specifically the blind and visually impaired. This initiative has been implemented by the Spectrum Management Affairs Department in TRA.
On this accomplishment, H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA Director General, commented: "This victory is the result of TRAs efforts and ongoing initiatives in supporting and spreading the culture of innovation in all aspects of government work, in implementation of the leaderships directives in this regard. In TRA, we are keen to use all smart technologies and modern solutions to serve the TRA goals of continuously improving the level of the telecommunication sector in the UAE, and maintaining the great gains achieved locally and globally."
H.E. Al Mansoori added: "We also attach great importance to the issue of social responsibility and its efforts to enable all groups of society, especially people of determination, to become active members in the service of the nation. The success of Hutaf initiative is an affirmation of the quality excellence and benefit that it offers to blind and visually impaired."
The TRA delegation that participated in the competition included Eng. Saleh Al Masabi, Eng. Dauud Al Qouyatahi, and Mrs. Sara Al Dhaheri.
