TRA Commemorates Zayed Humanitarian Work Day by Launching a Series of Charitable Initiatives

Mobilk - The Telecommunications Regulatory Authorities (TRA) celebrated Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which marks the 19th of Ramadan, by launching a series of charitable initiatives aimed for this occasion, reflecting the humanitarian values of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, father and founding leader of the United Arab Emirates.

The list of charitable initiatives and activities organized by TRA for this occasion was varied to include all segments of the society, reflecting the clear message that Sheikh Zayed is a universal figure whom his white hands and charitable work have included the needy all over the world. The TRA initiatives included the distribution of vouchers to a certain group of TRA workers to enable them to purchase the Eid needs and celebrate properly with their families and children. Additionally, a group of TRA employees have volunteered to distribute Iftar meals in a Ramadan tent, in cooperation with Beit Al Khair Society. These activities were concluded with a cultural lecture at TRA office entitled Mastering the work, delivered by Sheikh Abdulla Musa from the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities. TRA also organized a number of other initiatives, such as Farhat Eid, and Abayati launched by Eve Committee in TRA to collect cloaks during Ramadan and then distributing them to the needy families, in cooperation with Beit Al Khair Society.

Commenting on this occasion, H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA Director General, said: We are proud to belong to a country whose name is associated with the noble humanitarian values of giving, charitable work, and assisting those in need. We also take pride in the figure of the founding father Shiekh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who dedicated the culture of charitable and humanitarian work in the thought and conscience of all the UAEs citizens.

H.E. Al Mansoori added: Today, we are following the same path under the leadership of H.H. Shiekh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the announcement of 2017 as the year of giving is a clear message about this. Our celebration today is only a revival of the meanings of generosity, giving, love and tolerance in a country where different cultures and nationalities live in an atmosphere of mutual tolerance and respect. The commemoration of this anniversary also reflects the authenticity of the UAE people and their exemplification of the spirit and thought of ayed the giving\.

It is worth mentioning that this year marks the 13th anniversary of the passing of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Moreover, in 2012, the 19th of Ramadan has been announced as Zayed Humanitarian work day, by an official resolution issued by the Prime Ministers Office, in recognition of his role in establishing the UAE humanitarian journey of giving.
