Mobilk - Marking the inspiring contribution of its dynamic and talented female staff to its continued achievements and ongoing success, Ooredoo hosted its annual Omani Women’s Day Celebration at the Makkan Café in Muscat Grand Mall. Among the guests at the event, was motivational speaker Safiya Al Bahlani and the business woman Kamla Al Awfi, who shared their career insights and life experiences, as they spoke about their professional journey to the Ooredoo team. A number of entertaining activities were also organised, including a 15 minute yoga session, two raffle draws, and challenging games.
Commenting on the significance of the afternoon, Amaal Al Lawati, Ooredoo’s Chief Customer Experience Officer, enthused: “This key event in the Ooredoo family calendar is an important opportunity for us to honour the hard work, ambition, and strength of character of the women in Ooredoo. Every day, these incredible women inspire me with their desire to learn new skills, respond to challenges, embrace responsibility, pursue goals, and all with the determination to succeed.”
The Ooredoo’s Chief Customer Experience Officer continued: “I am grateful for the wise vision and leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, whose forward-looking policies have created an environment in which we all can not only flourish professionally but also contribute to the prosperity and progress of Oman.”

Since its inception, Ooredoo has maintained not only a commitment to equal opportunities but also to empowering women. In this regard, it collaborates annually with the British Council to organise the Springboard Programme, which during 2016 alone, provided 150 female public and private sector employees with practical skills training, professional and personal development. The company has also launched a number of incubator programmes exclusively to provide women with vocational training and resources in the disciplines of Information Technology, beauty, cooking, and sewing. The initiatives have helped empower 170 women with income generating skills and inspired the socio-economic growth of local communities across the Sultanate.
