Mobilk - Following the success of last year, the second Ooredoo Cricket Tournament kicked off on 11 March 2016 the at Pakistani school playground in Ruwi. Running every Friday until 29 April, the 16 teams are lined up to battle it out for top honours in this knockout tournament, in what is sure to be a fantastic display of sporting talent.
Feras AL-Shaikh, Director of Consumer Sales at Ooredoo said, “This will definitely be an exciting and tough competition. Cricket is a popular sport that has found its way into many households and is something that also requires discipline and many attributes that play a part in a healthy and successful life; perseverance, commitment, teamworking and good sportsmanship” One of our goals at Ooredoo is to inspire people to grow through sports. From the response we had from our first competition last year, we knew we had to continue as public demand was so high. We are sure the tournament will continue to grow through the years and hopefully see some of the successful players grow with us.”
Ooredoo will be awarding trophies to the winners and runners-up and cricket enthusiasts will be able to follow the tournament on Ooredoo’s social media channels.
