Ooredoo softball cricket tournament to be a huge hit

Mobilk - The first ever Ooredoo Softball Cricket Tournament will kick off on 6 March 2015 at the Ahli Sidab club ground. 32 teams (in two groups) are lined up to battle it out for top honours over the four week knockout tournament, being played every Friday, in what is sure to be a battle of sporting talent. The two groups will be drawn on 3 March at 5pm outside Ooredoo’s flagship store in Muscat Grand Mall.

Sutha Siva, Acting Chief Business Officer at Ooredoo said, “This will definitely be an exciting and tough competition. Cricket is a popular sport that has found its way into many households and is something that also requires discipline and many attributes that play a part in a healthy and successful life; perseverance, commitment, teamworking and good sportsmanship” One of our goals at Ooredoo is to inspire people to grow through sports. From the response we have had so far to this first ever competition, we are sure we will see the tournament grow through the years and hopefully see some of the successful players grow with us.”

Ooredoo will be awarding trophies to the winners and runners-up, but there are also some inspiring prizes up for grabs for best batsman, best bowler, man of the match and man of the series. These include smartphones, special Ooredoo numbers and More International calling cards for outstanding players throughout the tournament.
