Vodafone Qatar, a leader in online commerce, today announced that its Facebook Group has reached a phenomenal 5,000 members. The group only celebrated its one-year anniversary on 3 December 2009.
Facebook is witnessing growing use as a valuable way for companies to engage in meaningful conversation with customers. Over 10,000 companies currently have Facebook groups, including some of the world's best-known brands such as Coca-Cola and Disney. In addition to Facebook, Vodafone Qatar embraces other innovative media for talking with customers, from blogs to Twitter and others.
Vodafone Qatar uses Facebook to provide customer service and address customer requests through the Vodafone Qatar Facebook Group, and even uses it as a forum to gather feedback about what customers would like to see from Vodafone, such as new products and service improvements. In fact, members of the Vodafone Facebook Group are often the first to hear about Vodafone's new offers and promotions, as well as events.
"We are hungry for innovation in our pursuit to offer more value and better service to our customers," said Vodafone DeEtte Christie, Head of Online. "Facebook is just one of the many ways we seek to meet and engage with customers. It's about letting our customers interact with us in the way that is most natural or comfortable to them. And, importantly, we listen."
Anyone can join Vodafone Qatar's Facebook Group by setting up a Facebook account and searching for "Vodafone Qatar" within the online application.
