Vodafone Qatar named New Entrant of the Year at CommsMEA Awards in Dubai

Vodafone Qatar has been honoured in the category of "New Entrant of the Year" at the 4th annual CommsMEA Awards in Dubai, it was announced last Wednesday.

The CommsMEA awards, which are sponsored by the ITP publishing group, seek to acknowledge operators and individuals who have taken a leadership role in the fast growing and rapidly changing telecoms sector of the Middle East and Africa.

 "It was a well-attended event with a who's who of MEA telecom operators represented," remarked Sturt Eastwood, director of Vodafone's fixed line business, who accepted the award on Vodafone's behalf.  "The award itself was hotly contested by very strong contenders, and I felt proud listening to the award criteria and the ensuing judges' decision.  It's been a great year of achievement for Vodafone Qatar, and we look forward to bigger and better things during the next twelve months."

When asked to comment on the honour, Vodafone Qatar CEO Grahame Maher said, "It's great to see recognition given to the people and partners who made our entry into Qatar such a success. We look forward to continuing to make a world of difference for all the people in Qatar."
