As part of their Eid Al-Adha activities, Vodafone Qatar has launched a unique fundraising drive on their website (www.vodafone.com.qa/donate), which benefits Qatar Red Crescent's Patients Relief Fund.
Everyone-Vodafone customers and non-customers alike- have the ability to make a QR 25, QR 50, QR 100 or QR 500 donation online. All donations raised through Vodafone's website until 31 January 2010 will go to the Patient Relief Fund.

Qatar Red Crescent (QRCS) is a humanitarian organisation that provides a range of interventions tailored to the context, which is intended to build resilient communities including; programs in risk reduction, health and health education water and sanitation and food security both nationally and internationally. QRCS is part of The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The Movement isimpartial and provides protection and assistance to people in need.
QRCS remains committed to strengthen the muchneeded humanitarian assistance to vulnerable communities and to change their lives for good. The Patients Relief Fund provides assistance to all vulnerable Qatar residents regardless of their gender, religious background or ethnic groups according to certain criteria. This includes:
Psychosocial support for patients receiving medical
Total or partial coverage of costs of surgeries and medical costs for those who can't afford it, in addition to covering travel expenses, which is only offered for treatment outside Qatar.
Total or partial coverage of medications and medical aids (e.g. hearing aids, heart stents, hip and knee replacement).
Wheelchairs and beds for elderly people
Gifts for chronically or terminally ill children (e.g. children with blood cancer)
