Attendance doubles in size to the region’s leading mobile, smart cards, payment and transactions shows

The Mobile Show, and Cards and Payment Middle East attracted over 4000 delegates as demand for innovation in these industry increases in the region

Mobilk - The Mobile Show, and Cards and Payments Middle East 2013, the Middle East’s only dedicated trade show focusing on mobile, and cards and payments industries, attracted over 4,000 visitors to the event held at the Dubai World Trade Centre Arena.  

Presented by Mobily and Emirates Identity Authority, the inaugural two-day event creates a platform for  businesses and individuals to engage and network with industry experts, leading solution providers and developers, and specialists from across the globe.

Event organiser Mathew Wallhead, general manager of Terrapinn commented that both of the co-located shows were a resounding success for exhibitors and visitors alike, “The prolific rise in mobile technology, and cards and contactless payment capabilities has revolutionized the way consumers, issuers and merchants interact with each other. This event brings together global and regional technology companies to explore ways to benefit from this increased connectivity.  The increased attendance for both of these shows is a reflection on the demand for such technologies in our region.”

Over 200 exhibitors were present at the exhibitions including global industry players Gemalto & Oberthur, Mobily and Samsung.  Both events included a free-to-attend exhibition and a series of free conferences run in-conjunction with a number of paid-to-attend keynote agendas feature speakers from leading companies from around the world including: Marc Frons, Senior Vice President & CIO, New York Times; Grant Allen, Program Director & Principal Architect, Google; Mark Challinor, Director Mobile Platforms, Daily Telegraph; Christian Doerffer, Co-Founder & CCO, Mindshapes; Peter Parmenter, Senior Director of New Platforms & OEM, EA; and Ludovic Levy, International Director Mobile Advertising, Orange.

Developing a nation-wide digital wallet was at the top of the Cards and Payments show agenda.  The shows also explored the latest innovative trends in payments, driving value with mobile and the power of GenM.
