Mobilk - Reflecting its commitment to support civil society organisations in Oman, Ooredoo took part in the first media forum organised by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) from 20 to 22 February. During the event, held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Dr. Kahlan Al-Kharousi, Assistant Grand Mufti of the Sultanate, Ahmed Al-Housni, Head of the Digital Communications at Ooredoo, delivered a special workshop on ‘the Management of Social Media Platforms’.
Highlighting the importance of fast, reliable data bundles in today’s interactive cyberspace, Al-Housni said: “Social Media is playing a crucial role in every aspect of our lives. This inspired us to offer a variety of data bundles which are fast, reliable, and meet the growing demands of our individual and corporate customers.”
The interactive session covered a number of topics which were designed to enable participants to make the best of social media platforms. Al-Housni shed light on the definition of social media, its potential to influence public opinion, and the social changes and challenges resulting from the emergence of such modern technologies. He also touched upon the breadth of horizons that such new means of communication could open up – to users in all walks of life.
