Indie Fikra: Appathon 2012 – 48 hours of coding competition!

 

Mobilk - Move over Angry Birds!  Step aside Twitter!  Think you’ve got the next big idea in mobile apps?  Join the first ever “Appathon” in Qatar brought to you by Vodafone Qatar and QITCOM!

 

Held during QITCOM at the newly opened Qatar National Convention Center, Indie Fikra: Appathon 2012 brings together talent from all over Qatar to compete for over QR 50,000 in cash and prizes and inclusion in ictQATAR’s coveted incubation program Dajtala!  What are you waiting for?  It’s time to get started on your start up!

 

At Indie Fikra: Appathon 2012, you and your Team will compete against the clock to code and create a working demo for a new mobile app in any one of the following categories:

 

             •           Apps in Arabic

             •           Apps for Women

             •           Apps for Mobile Games

             •           Apps for Al Sadd Fan Club

 

 At the Qatar National Convention Center, you’ll have 48 hours – from 12:00 noon on Monday 5 March until 11:59 am on Wednesday 7 March – to complete your working demo.  Following the coding marathon, you and your team get 10 minutes to demonstrate your app and make your winning pitch to our panel of experts.  Winners will be announced on the show floor later that day.

 

To take part in this unique event, you’ll need to register your team by 25 February at www.vodafone.com.qa/appathon.   The Appathon is open to residents of Qatar who are at least 18 years of age.

 

Target platforms are: Android, BlackBerry or iOS.
