Mobilk - ZeroWire Labs, a leading software developer based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Toronto, Canada, today launched Sports Vibe, of a unique sports application for BlackBerry® smartphones. The app dynamically enriches the Home screen with continuous updates from a user’s preferred sports team, and provides fans with the ability to interact through in-app chats and polls.
Sports Vibe, which is now available as a free download on BlackBerry App World™, tracks football, basketball, hockey and other sports teams located in the Middle East and North Africa, and automatically pushes the latest news directly onto the user’s Home screen. Users can receive updates such as match timings, scores, up-to-the-minute updates for goals and standout action, as well as images, video replays and game highlights.
“We were inspired by consumer insights and their habits of sharing and debating sports-related news. BlackBerry was the platform of choice, enabling us to leverage the power of the BlackBerry® Messenger (BBM™) social platform, with its viral communication capabilities that have proven to increase app download rates and allows for chatting and sharing info from within the app,” said Mahmoud Hashem, co-CEO of ZeroWire Labs.
Sports Vibe provides BBM integration, allowing users to connect to friends and fans around the world and interact directly from within Sports Vibe, holding discussions about team strategy and performance through live chats and a series of polls and contests.
ZeroWire Labs is a member of the BlackBerry® Alliance Programme, which provides technical, marketing and business development support to BlackBerry developers.
