Mobilk - As the volume of digital information continues to grow across the Middle East, Huawei—a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider– is set to reveal its Oceanstor9000 storage solution to help regional organizations meet the rising demands of securing their mission critical assets.
Huawei will unveil the Oceanstor9000, a storage system intended for managing the influx of big data, during the GITEX Big Data Summit on Tuesday 14 October.
The requirements for smarter and more innovative storage technologies have seen a key business focus in the region with large enterprises demanding greater system performance and greater recovery time for business opportunities.
Regional CIOs are looking for new ways to cope with the size, variety and types of data that exist today. From managing the influx of video to tracking and analyzing bank transactions; the Oceanstor9000 will be able to accommodate the increasingly complex layers of emerging technologies that businesses are adopting to service current and future business demands.
“The huge amounts of data generated have forced CIOs to rethink ways to invest in their high-end storage solutions. These businesses need to have the performance to match their business goals,” comments Sanjay Sainani, Regional VP, IT Solutions, Huawei, Middle East. “Not only do businesses want to stay ahead but they also understand that losing data, critical to their business, whether there be a natural disaster or a power outage, can potentially bring millions of dollars loss to a company. The Huawei Oceanstor9000 high-end storage suite offers government entities, telecom operators and large businesses with unprecedented advantages in storage performance, scalability and cost.”
Huawei’s intelligent and convergent storage solution meets requirements for virtualization, big data and cloud computing; helping to address the challenges posed by sky rocketing data growth and risks caused by unpredictable storage requirements. A trusted and reliable storage platform, Huawei developed the Oceanstor9000 for enterprises across different industries, particularly in the energy, government and banking sectors that have large, data intensive IT environments. Customers from across the world have already deployed the Oceanstor9000 in several mission-critical scenarios such as within energy exploration, financial data archiving, satellite surveying and metropolitan video surveillance applications.
The ICT vendor maintains that while Big Data has dominated CIO conversations in recent years, enterprises are still only scratching the surface of what is possible and are unsure about how to maximize its demonstrable value.
Mehdi Ziane, Senior IT Solutions Manager at Huawei will be addressing these CIO business critical issues during his GITEX Big Data Summit keynote speech ‘Mining Gold from Sand’, which will outline the value of big data storage within the Finance and Telecoms sectors. This will take place at the Dubai World Trade Center on Tuesday, October 14 at 10:00am.
Sainani continued: “At Huawei, we have embarked upon Big Data innovation for quite some time and have a clear vision of where we are headed in the region. Today, we are regarded as a prominent ICT company with rich experience and credentials in delivering big data solutions across all vertical industries but particularly for Telecom and Finance organizations.”
Within the Middle East, Huawei has worked on a wide variety of enterprise storage projects in recent years. This has included working with one of Saudi Arabia’s national telecom operators providing a high-end storage solution that allows data to be managed centrally with significantly larger storage capabilities. Huawei has also recently partnered with a prominent engineering firm in Kuwait to provide a storage solution to enable their CCTV systems for physical security monitoring.
Across the globe Huawei provides enterprise storage solutions to over 2,000 customers in over 80 nations.
