Mobilk - Nawras has successfully launched a new Network Operations Centre (NOC) in Bausher to provide advanced quality control and rapid response in support of a strong and resilient network. Equipped with the latest monitoring technology, the new NOC replaces the previous site in Ghubra and features the latest, highly sensitive controls.
Wolfgang Wemhoff, Nawras Chief Technology Officer, said, “This is another milestone in our programme of Turbocharging. The new data centre will control Nawras network technology by using the most up to date monitoring system to secure consistent high performance and maintain coverage across the country, 24-hours a day, all year round. The project itself has taken three months to complete and from this ultra modern site we are now in the position to begin operations and better serve our customers, with a special focus on business customer support.”
The new data centre has been fitted with the most modern security features to avoid damage or service downtime during extreme weather and can withstand severe weather conditions including earthquakes and category five cyclones. From the monitoring base, Nawras engineers will be able to remotely perform a health check on every site in the country.
The site will host many telecom experts, all of whom are dedicated to ensuring the network operates smoothly and with the ability to remotely control other switch buildings in the various Governorates of the Sultanate.
Stage two of the Network Turbocharging programme is now underway as Nawras continues future proofing its network from end to end in order to deliver a pleasingly different customer experience for people in the Sultanate of Oman.
