Ooredoo Supports Sultan Qaboos Hospital Salalah with Medical Supplies to Fight COVID-19

Mobilk - Continuing to support the nation’s healthcare services as they fight the coronavirus (COVID-19), Ooredoo is donating vital medical supplies to Sultan Qaboos Hospital Salalah. The equipment, will be given to frontline staff for their protection, and to enable them to continue to provide essential patient care. Since the beginning of the outbreak, Ooredoo has been working closely with the Ministry of Health to identify the specific requirements of healthcare facilities up and down the country, as they treat the rising number of cases. 

Ghaneem Al Mashikhi, Director - Dhofar Region, Ooredoo, said, “From the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been our priority to provide support throughout our community, wherever it is needed. We are so grateful for the bravery of our medical workers during these difficult times and proud to help them fight this cause, whether that be by donating, or even just by staying at home to limit the spread of the virus.”

Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed al Mashikhi, General Director of Health Services in Dhofar Government, added, “Access to reliable health equipment has never been more crucial, and we are grateful for the efforts of companies like Ooredoo, who are helping us to mitigate any shortages and ensure that our staff are protected and our patients receive the best possible care. With such support, we can keep this pandemic under control, and God willing, eliminate it.”

An extension of its Goodwill CSR programme, Ooredoo has announced a number of initiatives to support the country’s coronavirus relief efforts. As well as the donation of medical supplies to different hospitals, it has enabled free access to educational websites and online communication applications as part of a collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) to support students’ educational needs while schools are closed. Customers can also access a number of promotions and freebies to make their lives easier as they isolate at home, including unlimited national calls, extra internet speed and extra data.
