Mobilk - Digital transformation across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia will be fuelled by the partnerships signed by leading public and private sector organizations at GITEX Technology Week 2015, industry experts agreed today.
Supporting innovation in the UAE, Dubai Internet City announced a strategic partnership with the Dubai Museum of the Future Foundation for the UAE Drones for Good Award 2016. Etisalat is in discussion with the Expo 2020 office to transform the Expo 2020 site as the first and smartest district of the future with plans to roll out the 5G network.
In one of the largest partnerships signed at the event, Saudi Telecom Company (STC), Microsoft, and F5 Networks signed an agreement to launch a new era of cloud services for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In telecoms, du announced partnerships with Nokia to showcase 5G possibilities, Vodafone to provide machine-to-machine solutions, Geotab for commercial vehicle efficiency, Dubai Medical District on smart services, Dubai International Financial Centre for telecommunications services, and the joint venture Al-Futtaim Carillion. Etisalat also signed with Ajman Department of Economic Development, Fujairah Free Zone, and Sharjah Asset Management.
Boosting business transformation in the Gulf, Huawei signed with Gulf Applications (GAPP) and Sale Advanced to support SMEs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with Salam Technology for enterprises in Qatar, and launched the Agile IoT solution taking smart transport vision from concept to reality.
Supporting start-ups, Trriple and Ericsson signed a partnership for mobile commerce, while Business France and the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone collaborated to promote French start-ups in the UAE.
