Huawei flagship smartphones Honor and Vision set to arrive on shelves across the UAE

Following impressive global success, Huawei promises consumers lineup of smartest, fastest and most fashionable smartphones to date

Mobilk - Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has announced that two of its much anticipated smartphone releases—the Huawei Honor and Huawei Vision—will be available this month to consumers across the UAE as the company looks to aggressively expand its regional handset portfolio in 2012. 

 

Originally introduced in select Asian and European markets last year, the high-performance devices have received positive acclaim for combining the latest software and hardware technologies packaged in a simple to use Android-supported handset.  

 

The introduction of the new models is testament to the company’s ongoing commitment to innovating high-quality devices at the top end of the consumer electronics market. With Honor and Vision priced at approximately AED 1500 and AED 1400 respectively, Huawei is looking to entice UAE consumers looking for both exceptional functionality and a competitive price tag.

Within the UAE, the Honor and Vision will be available through all IMS retail outlets including Lulu Hypermarkets, KM Trading, and Costless Electronics locations. 

 

Huawei announced the launch of the Honor smartphone in KSA earlier this week in an exclusive partnership with operator STC. The devices can also be found in select retailers across the Middle East in countries such as Jordan and Oman. 

 

Huawei has recently seen strong sales of its smartphone offering in the region in countries like Qatar, where distribution partner Informatica Qatar (iQ) reported this month that stocks of the new Huawei X5 and IDEOS mobile phones - meant to last for three months - have run out barely three weeks after being launched.

 

Huawei Honor

Huawei Honor is the most recent of Huawei’s cloud-concept smartphones featuring as a standard the Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS with an upcoming option this summer to update to Android’s 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.  The 4-inch high-definition (HD) capacitive touch screen is powered by an ultra-capacity 1,900 MAh battery. The Honor frees consumers from the inconvenience of searching for a charger by allowing them to share and connect for up to three days on a single charge – the longest battery life among smartphones in the 4-inch screen range. With a 1.4 GHz processor, an 8-megapixel HDR -enabled camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, Honor is a powerhouse of a smartphone all packaged in an elegant 10.9 mm-thin body and weighing just 140g.  

 

The Huawei Honor also features the company’s renewed user interface including a gyroscope for a better gaming and entertainment experience. The smartphone is DLNA-certified which ensures interoperability with a wide selection of digital cameras, game consoles and TVs. Consumers can also look forward to pairing up with an Honor that matches their lifestyle as the smartphone now comes in Glossy Black, Textured Black, Elegant White, Vibrant Yellow, Cherry Blossom Pink and Burgundy.

 

Huawei Vision

Huawei Vision is the perfect combination of technology and style, winning a prestigious iF Design Award for its sleek figure and powerful functionality. The device includes visual innovations such as a 3D-user interface and carousel animation display all running on Android Gingerbread 2.3 OS and supported by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Measuring only 9.9mm at its thinnest point and at around 121g, the Vision still supports 720P video recording and features a 5 megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash. Add on Bluetooth V2.1 with A2DP and high-speed WiFi internet connectivity, the Vision makes staying connected with friends and family even easier.
