Zain, part of the Zain Group, the leading mobile operator in the Middle East and Africa, began its first of a series of tours which it aims to conduct in the various governorates around Jordan. The first visit was to the governorate of Irbid and lasted for two days.
Zain’s visits, undertaken by Zain CEO Dr. AbdelMalek Al Jaber and a number of Zain staff from the various departments, aim to establish a direct relationship with customers and learn about their various needs.
The visit also included a follow up on a number of initiatives launched by the company in the governorates and helped discover new facets of cooperation between the company and the various institutions within the governorates. The Zain delegate also met with Zain’s customers as well as company sub-dealers, governorate dignitaries and university presidents.
On the occasion, Zain CEO Dr. AbdelMalek Al Jaber said: “our passion to serve our customers has led us to organize these trips and open channels of communication with them with our various stakeholders in order to learn about their needs”.
During his visit to Al Yarmouk University and meeting with its president Sultan Abu Arabi, Al Jaber said: “Zain’s is committed to supporting Jordan’s education and all initiatives that are directly related to strengthening the educational process in the kingdom.
“Zain appreciates the important role universities play in educating Jordan’s upcoming generation” Al Jaber said, who further noted the importance of cooperation between the public, private and educational sector in Jordan to serve and develop the local community.
In 2007, the company has built a four-meter high clock tower in front of the Faculty of Arts to provide an aesthetic appearance to the long-standing university campus and render it a modern landmark at the university.
During his visit to the Zain lab, inaugurated by Zain at the Jordan University for Science and Technology (JUST) in 2007, Al Jaber said: “We are proud to be achieving the desired goals behind the inauguration of this lab by developing it into a source for scientific research in the realm of telecommunications for both engineering and communication students”.
The Zain lab, furnished with the latest technologies and equipments, is considered the first-of-its-kind across all universities in Jordan in terms of its specialization and focus on mobile telecommunications that rely on the GSM and GPRS systems.
The trips coincided with the company’s launch of its annual winter campaign though which the company distributed aid packages to underprivileged families in Irbid in the presence of Irbid’s governor Khaled Abu Zaid.
