Zain Jordan holds an Iftar banquet for the children Mabbarat Um Al Hussein

In celebration of the Holy month of Ramadan, Zain, part of the Zain Group, the leading mobile operator in the Middle East and Africa, held an Iftar banquet for the children of Mabbarat Um Al Hussein. The iftar was held under the patronage of Her Highness Princess Basma Bint Talal, Chair woman of the Um Al Hussein's orphanage. 

Zain CEO Dr. Abdel Malek Al Jaber declared Zain's commitment towards underprivileged children during the Iftar which he attended alongside the orphans and a number of Zain employees. "Lending support to this segment of our society, is an integral part of our company's noble message in establishing these valuable concepts within society. The success the company has seen thus far has made us acutely aware of the role which we must play to participate in a comprehensive development in Jordan. This belief is what makes us take part in activities held by social organizations to encourage their mission" he said.

Al Jaber noted: "At Zain, we have always been one family, and we hope that this sense of oneness has been passed on to the children, making them feel like an integral part of society." He added, "The happiness evident on the children's faces and their response to us has given us a new objective to maintain a strong connection and be attuned to their needs, and to create businesses and projects that would reap benefit upon society. We wholeheartedly support the orphanages' annual charity bazaar, organized by the diplomatic mission and the Royal Hashemite Court, which will be held in October. "

Furthermore, Zain distributed school bags and gifts to the orphanages at the Iftar to coincide with the ushering in of a new school year, in hope that the children celebrate many more moments of joy and happiness.

It is worth noting that Zain has launched a number of initiatives during the Holy Month of Ramadan; such as the purchase of a home and all related commodities for the family of Arwa, thereby ending her family's homeless days which they had endured the past six months. Additionally, eight Mawaeed Al Rahman (Iftar Tents) have been held in seven governorates, as part of Zain's campaign during the Holy month of Ramadan. Zain is also lending support to the "To life/ Nahwa Al Haya" campaign, in collaboration with the King Hussein Cancer Center.

With these initiatives and others, Zain hopes to support many social sectors across Jordan including sports, youth as well as free health sponsorship for hundreds of children across the Kingdoms' villages, through the Zain mobile children's clinic.
