Ooredoo Celebrates Double Award Win at Global Business Outlook Awards 2022

Mobilk - In recognition of its pioneering approach to customer experience and supporting the community, Ooredoo has been named Oman’s Most Innovative Customer Friendly Digital Payment App for the pay+ Mobile Wallet and Most Innovative CSR Initiatives for SMEs 2022. The awards recognise and reward excellence in businesses around the world and show Ooredoo’s commitment to providing an exceptional level of customer focus and showing responsibility to lead in the community when times are toughest.

Ooredoo’s pay+ prioritises simple, convenient and queue-free payment by allowing customers to complete a wide variety of transactions from a single app on their smartphone. Developed in partnership with the National Bank of Oman, it’s a safe, secure and convenient alternative to cash, allowing users to leave their wallets at home. 

Supporting the community has taken on an entirely new meaning over the past two years and Ooredoo stepped up to the mark to show it can be relied upon to help when needed most. During Cyclone Shaheen recovery efforts, volunteers from the Ooredoo family came together to donate essential food and cleaning supplies to residents in Al Suwaiq, Saham, Al Khabora and Al Mussanah, as well as helping on the ground to clean up roads and homes. 

Ooredoo also joined forces with Oman’s Charitable Organisation and Dar Al Atta’a to raise funds to support those in need, donate electronic devices and household items while also donating profits from the iPhone 13 launch to families in the Al Batinah region. 

In addition, ongoing programmes such as the Ooredoo Goodwill Journey, Springboard and Spring Forward have continued to empower families, female-driven entrepreneurs, underprivileged communities and recent graduates to fulfil their potential and take the next step in their education or their careers.
