Batelco Health & Nutrition Campaign Free Health Tests

Batelco as part of its extensive benefits for staff recently organised a special Nutrition & Health day at the Company’s Hamala Headquarters. Batelco was supported by the Nutrition Section of the Public Health Directorate, who provided a comprehensive range of health tests and advice free of charge for Batelco employees.

The campaign activities, carried out by primary health care nurses, included a variety of clinical & health tests, height\weight measurements, blood pressure, blood sugar test, percentage of fat and blood Hb.

As part of the campaign activities, educational materials such as booklets, leaflets, brochures and posters were exhibited and healthy fruits and drinks were distributed. Additionally, Public Health Directorate nutritionists were on hand to provide counseling and advice.

Health Directorate, Head of Nutrition Section Dr. Nadia Gharib said that the main goal of the activity was to combine the importance of physical activity with good diet.

“Accordingly, Muneer Makki a senior physical education school coach, performed different cardiovascular and stretching exercises with participants and also provided several helpful tips regarding physical activities,” said Dr. Gharib.

Batelco Group General Manager Human Resources Shaikh Ahmed Al Khalifa said that the Nutrition & Health Day was very well attended by the Company’s employees.

“It was a great success and we have received a lot of positive feedback from those who attended. We will strive to offer similar events to promote the health of our employees in the future.
