O2 debuts laptops in stores

O2 will start offering subsidised laptops in its UK stores from February 27, starting with three Samsung devices.

The Samsung NC10 and R510 will be available 'free' on 24-month O2 mobile broadband contracts of £29.38 and £39.15 per month, allowing 3GB downloads and 10GB downloads respectively. Both contracts also allow 300 on-network text messages.

The NC10 comes with Windows XP Home, 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, 10.2 inch screen and Bluetooth. The R510 comes with Windows Vista, 2GB RAM, 160 GB hard drive, DVD player and 15.4 inch screen

A more highly specified version of the R510, which comes with 3GB RAM and a 250GB hard drive, is also available, for £78.29 on both mobile broadband tariffs.

O2 customers can add home fixed broadband for £39.15 with a 3GB £29.38 mobile broadband tariff, or £44.04 with a 10GB £39.15 mobile broadband contract.

O2's laptop offers come with free telephone and email laptop support until June 30 for customers purchasing before June 1. Laptops bought after June 1 will have free support for 30 days.

The deals also include a 30-day guarantee, an extended two-year warranty and McAfee security software.
