Mobilk - Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, has proudly announced that the Galaxy Note II, its flagship smartphone/tablet hybrid, has passed 5 million in channel sales achieving a new milestone a month after selling three million units of the device during the first 30 days after its launch.
Within just two months after its release in October, the Galaxy Note II has broken record sales, selling 5 million devices world-wide, roughly three times faster than its predecessor, the original Galaxy Note. Due to a partnership with 260 carriers around the world, Samsung states that the Galaxy Note II could eventually sell as many as 20 million units, which would represent around 10 million more than the original Galaxy Note.
It was only the start of this month when it was announced that the Galaxy Note II had sold three million units; less than four weeks later, the Note IIs were flying off the shelves and an additional two million second generation devices were sold.
Jung Heum Shin, Business Manager, HHP at Samsung Electronics KSA says "While the 5.5 inch Galaxy Note II broke record sales, its not surprising when talking about such a device as it definitely sits in a league of its own. For those who thought the original Note was a success with over ten million sales it looks like its successor is well on its way to surpassing that mark."
In addition to the 5 million sales, Galaxy Note II is performing extremely well in all available markets, fairly evenly across all countries and regions in which the device is sold. The Asian, European, North American, Latin, African and Middle Eastern markets including Saudi Arabia have all responded positively to the Note II.
The Galaxy Note 2, which opened a new chapter of smartphone devices, came with a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, the biggest display in smartphone market, with a stylus called S Pen. It was powered by 4.1 Jelly Bean, the latest version of Android operating system, featuring a 1.6 GHz Quad- Core processor, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (expandable to 128GB with memory cards). Galaxy Note II is designed to simplify idea capture, information access, and multitasking, making each easier and faster. It further allows users to organize work, tasks, express their ideas naturally and efficiently.
