  • Huawei Outlines Path for Supporting Oman’s Growing Mobile Workforce

Mobilk - As information and communications technologies take center stage this week at COMEX 2014, Huawei—a leading global ICT solutions provider - is outlining its vision to support the growth of Omani Enterprises with the implementation of flexible BYOD and Unified Communications solutions.

At the Omani ICT event, Huawei is offering business leaders and IT managers the opportunity to learn about how choosing the right mobility and communications tools can significantly impact productivity and bottom line revenues.

Coupled with the announcement that 56 percent of organizations in the region are expecting the mobile workforce to increase in 2014, market intelligence firm IDC has also highlighted that nearly 60 percent of enterprises in the GCC do not currently have a robust mobility strategy . Huawei believes this highlights a significant growth opportunity for Omani enterprises to support its workforce to be more agile, flexible and more productive.

“Omani businesses are beginning to witness the influence of the rising Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) trend, as employees start using their own smart devices in the workplace. In order to avoid network security issues, enterprises in Oman need to ensure that they have a secure mobility strategy that can offer control, flexibility and increased productivity for an ever remote workforce”, said: Luo Lei (Tony),  General Manager, Huawei, Oman.

According to the ICT Company, the main technology trends that will make a measurable impact for business in 2014 include the virtualization of storage through the cloud, the unification of communications through video and the adoption of mobility solutions.

Huawei has already generated significant success with regional businesses within the Education, Government and Oil & Gas sectors, introducing mobility solutions for employees allowing the use of smart devices in order to improve productivity and remote working. The recent unveiling of Huawei’s AnyOffice BYOD, offers businesses a signature Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) solution for the Middle East region, which empowers companies to improve office collaboration and increase efficiency by enabling employees to securely access corporate assets on their personal mobile devices.

Huawei also highlighted how the distinct shift from simple voice to video infrastructures is fuelling a growth of the unified communication market in Oman. The rising adoption of smart devices, the development of faster broadband connectivity and the increasing acceptance of mobility solutions with regional enterprises, is widening the use of video conferencing as a mainstream form of communication. By implementing a Tele-presence solution, enterprises will reduce the need for travel yet allow for immediate face-to-face meetings, which ultimately provides the means to faster response times, increasing productivity and reducing costs.

Huawei is hoting demonstrations of its TE30 Video Conferencing system, a secure unified communication solution in addition to its Fusion Cube virtualization capabilities. Through Fusion Cube, the ICT company offers virtual computing and cloud management of systems that need to reduce the costs of data storage.

“Virtualization, BYOD and Unified Communications will continue to play a significant role in the modern enterprise as avenues for realizing greater efficiencies, productivity and customer value. As Omani businesses strive to do more with fewer resources and to better service their customers, a collaborative ICT approach incorporating the latest technologies has become more crucial than ever. By implementing the right technology solutions enterprises can empower employees to communicate more effectively, improve business processes, reduce operational expenses and ultimately achieve better profitability,” added Tony.

Huawei will also be showcasing its latest solutions in its wide portfolio including its Cloud Virtual Desktops and high-end storage for large originations, IP solutions including its Agile network solutions and its eLTE (Enterprise 4G) technology.

All of Huawei’s latest solutions and products can be found at COMEX 2014 in the Business sector of stand 606.
