Orange Jordan, the sole integrated telecom operator in the Kingdom, is taking part in the schoolbags campaign launched by the Greater Amman Municipality in the occasion of the beginning of the school year.
This participation stems from Orange Jordan’s keenness to save the cost of these bags on the students and their parents in light of the rise of their prices as well as those of many other necessary commodities in the market coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan which holds a lot of burdens and expenses on low income Jordanian families.
Orange will handle the distribution of these bags which contain a full supply of stationary to all poverty pockets in the Kingdom.
In a statement released by Mrs. Nayla Khawam, Orange Jordan CEO, said: "This participation emerges from the company's social responsibility commitment toward the Jordanian society, which comes is in line with the Royal directions to support the education sector as it is an important pillar in developing the society at large and the the Kingdom as a whole".
"I encourage all companies in the private sector to bear their responsibilities toward the local communities and participate in such programs and campaigns for the positive impact they will have on citizens, thus fulfilling the Royal call for the cooperation between the public and the private sectors," she added.
It is note worthy that Orange Jordan has launched a number of social assistance programs and projects throughout the Kingdom in addition to sponsoring health, education and poverty alleviation programs as well as supporting youth, sports and recreational activities.
