Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Orange Jordan sponsored the Media and Telecommunication Convergence Conference 2009 organized by Arab Advisors Group with the participation of over 430 representatives from regional and global media and telecommunication companies.
This year’s Conference focused on the penetration rate of high speed Internet services among a wider segment of the population, and its contribution in increasing the usage of e-Business, in addition to the services that rely on convergence and multimedia. It also highlighted the various issues and opportunities provided by the enormous growth of satellite television stations, and the fierce competition among telecommunication companies.
Jordan Telecom Group CEO, Mr. Mickael Ghossein participated in a discussion session where he addressed the requirements of this era in having secure high-tech telecommunication services, as well as the growth and competition faced by Jordan’s broadband services. He also talked about Orange Jordan’s leading position among the other operators through its innovation, high quality services and competitive prices.
Along with Mr. Ghossein, Mr. Philippe Vogeleer, Chief Strategy Officer, and Mr. Tamouh Khauli, CEO of Orange Innovation and Corporate Integrated Solutions, participated in the conference. Furthermore, Orange Jordan specialists took part during the two days conference in various work sheets and discussion panels that tackled important issues.
During the Exhibition that coincided with the Conference, Orange demonstrated many of its services such as the Wi-Fi which covered the needs of the participants and visitors at the venue.
The Group provided the media and telecommunication center with high-level communication services, making it accessible to all participants and local, Arab and global media who secured media coverage to the exhibitions’ activities.
Orange Jordan was keen at supporting this conference for its significance, as it was held in light of the developments in the telecommunications services and information technology, which play a key role in business growth, spreading the media and developing other sectors.
