du to launch training courses for the Emirati employees

du and the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). As per the agreement, du will organise comprehensive training courses for Emirati employees who are enrolled for its graduate training programme, Masar. The training courses, which will span over seven months, will cover many aspects of career development for local employees, and will be conducted from the HCT premises.

This agreement comes in-line with du’s plan for continuous training and career development of its Emirati employees, and represents another step in the cooperation between the two organisations. The MoU was signed by Fahad Al Hassawi, Chief Human Resources and Corporate Services Officer, du, and Dr. Tayeb A. Kamali, Vice Chancellor, HCT.

du explained that this training programme will cover many areas, depending on the individual needs of du employees and Masar participants, including English Language, the etiquette of e- communication, International Computer Driving License (ICDL), communication skills, time management, the principles of report writing , business development, an introduction to the telecommunications sector, business presentation skills, problem-solving and decision-making.

Fahad thanked HCT for giving du employees the unique opportunity to benefit from their academic expertise on the training programme: "As part of our Emiratisation strategy, we are keen to choose capable local talent and to ensure that we give them all the necessary tools to build their skills and help them develop in their career when they join du, through the Masar programme. Training is one of the key tools to achieving these goals as it supports and nurtures employees’ abilities, which enables them to do the best job possible."

Dr Kamali expressed his satisfaction on the partnership with du and said: "The cooperation between academic organisations and the private sector plays a key role in developing all sectors across the UAE. du’s desire to train its employees shows its dedication to developing their abilities and soft skills, so that they can contribute to the success that du continues to achieve. We are pleased to be able to provide our academic expertise in order to offer the best possible training courses to du employees and give them knowledge in many different sectors."
