du, the new telecom operator in the UAE, announced today the launch of its self-care service, giving customers control over their monthly and Pay as You Go plans and to choose products and services at their own convenience. The announcement was made today at MECOM Telecommunications & ICT Summit 2007, currently being held in Abu Dhabi from 22-25 April.

“Self-Care is yet another example of du striving to provide customers with the complete experience. One based on excellence, convenience and freedom,” said Osman Sultan, CEO of du. “We believe that the best and shortest way to reach this goal is through the delivery of new services such as self-care service, offering customers the freedom to manage their mobile services directly themselves and whenever they wish.”

Self-care can be accessed online at www.du.ae and through our IVR by dialing 135 from a du mobile. Customers can keep track of their Monthly Plan bills and total recharge each month, a feature only offered by select telecommunications service providers worldwide. What’s more customers can register for mobile payments, activate and set their Me&Mine numbers, buy SMS bundles and data bundles and activate caller tunes.

“du wants to simplify the use of telecommunication services and adapt it to the utmost in order to serve the needs of customers. This is and will remain a mainstay in our strategy to ‘add life to life’ for our customers," added Sultan.

For first-time users, Self-Care will require customers to register a password to ensure confidentiality and security.
