(Huawei), a world leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions, in celebrating the success of Mobinils newest and most advanced state-of-the-art network in Egypt and the Middle East.
Mobinil CEO Mr. Hassan Kabbani stated that, "one of the reasons behind the supremacy of Mobinils new network is our insistence on dealing with the best technology providers in the world who helped us make Mobinils network second to none in Egypt and the Middle East, a network that combines GSM, GPRS, EDGE, 3G, 3.5G, 3.75G, etc. in an umbrella that transforms the life styles of the companys 22 million plus subscribers."
The strategic partnership between Mobinil and Huawei ensures that Egypts leading mobile operator has acquired the most advanced 3G technologies, which positively reflects upon 22 million subscribers in terms of all 3G services, as well as enhancing voice calls, video calls, and data transfer.
Huawei President for the MENA region Mr. Dinshaohua stated that, "we have signed a five year agreement with Mobinil covering the whole of Cairo and the North Coast, and through our partnership the 3G network has reached outstanding levels of success, incorporating over one million 3G users and a total of 22 million subscribers."
Mobinil capitalized on Huaweis world position and unique history for providing telecom network solutions to ensure that the companys network acquires the most advanced 3G technology and equipment, which reflects on the experiences of its over 22 million subscribers.
The collaboration between Huawei and Mobinil goes back to 2005 when the two companies joined efforts to work on Softswitch trials in Egypt. They moved on to sign a commercial contract in 2006 to expand Mobinils network capacity to accommodate the growing number of subscribers. In 2008 Mobinil signed a five-year frame agreement with Huawei, under which Huawei would help Mobinil construct a 3G network covering the whole Cairo region. This success greatly strengthened the confidence between the two companies, and in 2009 Mobinil again chose Huawei to provide services to the Northern Coast of Egypt. The entire Mobinil network now has more than 600 Huawei 3G base stations, providing high-speed HSPA services and better data service experience to subscribers.
It is important to note that Mobinil signed a 3G license agreement in October 2007, which entitles it to use the technologies of EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA for providing the 3G services, including video telephony, video messaging, high-speed data transfer and high-speed file downloading, high-speed internet browsing, MBMS services, Mobile TV services, location-based services as well as Push-To-View services, after acquiring the approvals of the concerned authorities for some of these services.
