Mobilk - The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), through Eve Committee, has organized a workshop on Work Etiquette for its female employees, where basic information were provided on how to act in many situations in the work environment. In the beginning of the workshop, a brief explanation was provided on the concept of etiquette and the code of conduct with others to make a good impression that reflects a distinctive image of the entity the employee belongs to.
Moreover, the issues raised in the workshop agenda included the definition of etiquette rules among colleagues, especially in open-space offices, in addition to duties when receiving guests in the office, meetings etiquette, phone calls at work, international courtesies, handshakes, and respecting appointments. The workshop also focused on the importance of choosing the appropriate outfits for work, the guest distribution protocols during official meetings, and agreements signature protocols.
Commenting on this activity, Mrs. Ahlam Al Feel, Director Corporate Communication Department and the Chairwoman of Eve Committee, said: Organizing this workshop comes within the framework of TRAs tireless efforts to support and develop the employees skills to be the best UAE ambassadors during all conferences and meetings they attend. It also comes in line with the UAEs leadership vision to be among the best countries in the work in all areas by 2021."
Mrs. Al Feel added: This workshop has another dimension in terms of work environment, concerning the way to behave and cooperate with colleagues in a stress-relieving and positive manner, which would spread happiness among employees. The workshop also focused on the importance of praise and compliment in work, as well as listening carefully to colleagues, revealing positives, sharing opinions, evaluating initiatives, encouraging constructive criticism and transparency which would reflect on the quality of provided services. This initiative falls within an integrated strategic plan, with a future-orientation that is based on covering several important topics listed on the committees agenda, such as the family happiness, the happiness in the work environment, and others.
The workshop was facilitated and presented by the Advisor Dr. Mohammed Al Marzouqi. It has witnessed a great interaction by the female employees through initiating serious discussions in addition to raising many questions on a range of situations experienced by the employee on a daily basis. Furthermore, given the success and received compliment of the workshop by the participating female employees, Eve Committee will soon organize a similar workshop for the male employees.
