Mobilk - During its participation at the TV Connect MENA conference and exhibition being held on October 31-November 1 at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi, Huawei, a leading global ICT solutions provider, showcased its Much TV solution, a video ecosystem that enables streaming of TV content through Huawei’s video cloud.
Much TV has already been rolled out by five telecom operators across the Middle East and is expected to reach over 3 million users by year’s end, and a forecast user base of 8 million by end of 2017. The plug & play solution enables telecom operators across the region to launch TV platforms quickly and at a low risk.
“Video consumption across the world has changed drastically, with users consuming more and more TV content online. The MENA region ranked second globally in YouTube viewership with daily views of over 310 million videos . It is no surprise that telecom operators are increasingly launching internet-based TV services to keep up with this growing demand,” said Wang Bin, Chief Expert of Huawei Middle East Video Service and keynote speaker at Connect TV MENA. “As part of its new video strategy, Huawei is collaborating with industry players across the region to help them achieve new revenue streams by providing TV services as part of their core offering. End-user will enjoy an unparalleled TV viewing experience that allows them to watch their favorite shows on-demand which is possible thanks to Huawei’s video cloud ecosystem.”
In September, Huawei released its video strategy for telecom carriers at the Ultra-Broadband Forum 2016 in Frankfurt, Germany. The Company reaffirmed its commitment to help operators achieve business success in the video industry by positioning video as a basic service.
