Themed ‘Leading New ICT, Making Cities Safer’, the event will see local, regional and international guests attend workshops to gain insights on how cities around the world are deploying new ICT solutions by Huawei to protect their city’s property and assets, the safety of its citizens and visitors, and its emergency-service operations.

The Summit will showcase its extensive portfolio of public safety solutions for the government sector and its leading innovations in high definition video surveillance, broadband trunking, Multi-media dispatching and intelligent analytics are delivering better situational awareness to emergency service agencies. These solutions are split across six main solution offerings: Convergent Command Center, Cloud-Based Intelligent Video Surveillance, Smart Road Safety, 4G Mission-Critical Broadband Trunking, Agile Communication Network and Secured Cloud Data Center solution.

“By 2025, 27 mega cities will exist, placing extraordinary pressure on public transportation, hospitals, waste management systems, and the power grid. Big data will play an important role in the future of the safe cities, with video surveillance, mobile devices, and social media generating vast amounts of data that command and control centers will need to interpret, analyze and action,” said Fan Siyong, Vice President, Enterprise Business Group, Huawei. “The Internet of Things (IoT) is also driving a revolution in how cities are organized, with new ICT innovation helping to solve concerns around transportation, energy supply, social infrastructure, economic stability, as well as physical infrastructure and security.”

Huawei will demonstrate how its leading ICT solutions help governments around the world leverage data, connectivity and interoperability to address public safety and security concerns. Huawei will also be sharing its views and strategies on safe city construction in this region. A safe city integrates more than one type of security-related information onto a consolidated IT platform. The consolidated IT platform is able to combine public-safety information obtained through video surveillance and other security-related sensors, sometimes with additional city-specific information related to infrastructure. The aim of the consolidated IT platform is to provide better situational awareness to the various stakeholders involved in ensuring the public’s wellbeing.
